From developing new machines to giving existing equipment a new lease of life, SDEIC combines electronics, control systems and embedded engineering expertise to deliver solutions built around what customers actually need. Now the County Durham business is bringing that expertise to the EMN community.
We’re delighted to welcome SD Electronic Integration and Control (SDEIC) as the latest company to join the Engineering & Manufacturing Network.
Based in County Durham, SDEIC specialises in electronic and electrical control systems, providing embedded development, custom electronics, PLC programming and integrated engineering support. The family-run business works with organisations developing new technologies as well as those looking to modernise and improve existing equipment.
Practical engineering built around the problem
At the heart of SDEIC’s approach is a simple principle: find the right solution for the project rather than trying to make the project fit the technology.
Its capabilities range from practical R&D and rapid prototyping through to the development of new machines and the enhancement of existing systems. The team can design bespoke embedded devices, integrate off-the-shelf components and develop custom web applications that work with both modern and legacy equipment
That flexibility means SDEIC can work within a customer’s existing environment, helping manufacturers, OEMs and energy storage companies solve technical challenges without unnecessarily replacing equipment that already works.
Just as importantly, the family-run business prides itself on being straightforward, dependable and easy to work with, solving complex engineering problems without adding unnecessary overhead or complication
Looking to the future
Over the next five years, SDEIC plans to strengthen its position as the engineering partner companies turn to for reliable, practical and well-designed technical solutions.
Growth is firmly on the agenda, but not at the expense of the family values, flexibility and hands-on approach that have shaped the business.
Alongside its core services, SDEIC intends to begin developing its own products and tools, while continuing to expand its expertise in modern control technologies, embedded systems, IoT connectivity and integrated web applications
Collaboration is firmly on the agenda
For SDEIC, joining EMN isn’t simply about raising its profile. The company is keen to connect with like-minded engineering and manufacturing businesses across the North East that share its enthusiasm for collaboration, innovation and practical problem-solving.
It hopes those connections could lead to future opportunities around R&D partnerships, machine upgrades and bespoke engineering support, while also providing opportunities to share knowledge and support the wider regional manufacturing community.
And that knowledge-sharing goes both ways.
SDEIC wants to contribute practical engineering expertise and real-world experience to the network, whether that means collaborating with other members on challenging projects, helping troubleshoot difficult technical problems or supporting organisations developing new technologies and upgrading existing equipment
As a family-run County Durham business, SDEIC is keen to play an active role in strengthening regional engineering and manufacturing capability
That collaborative mindset is exactly what EMN is all about.
A very warm welcome to SDEIC. We’re looking forward to introducing the team to the wider EMN community and seeing where those new connections lead.
