Introduction
Engineering & Manufacturing Network is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business and supply chains. Although we are not legally required to publish a modern slavery statement under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (as our turnover is below £36 million), we believe in acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings.
Our Business
Engineering and Manufacturing Network is dedicated to building and strengthening the engineering and manufacturing community in North East England. We help businesses and people to solve problems, gain knowledge, forge relationships and discover new opportunities, to support their success and create a better future for our region. Positioned at the heart of the sector, we:
- Help smaller and emerging businesses overcome growth challenges and avoid pitfalls, providing impartial peer to peer support
- Assist large scale and multi-national companies grow stronger roots in the north east engineering and manufacturing landscape – strengthen their local supply chains whilst sharing their wealth of experience for the benefit of the whole community
- Provide individual personnel from engineering and manufacturing businesses with access to their peers, draw on specialist expertise, improve working practices to become more effective and efficient
- Provide a members question and answer service – as a network of peers, someone will have an answer to your challenge or query. Just Ask!
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
- Ensuring there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business.
- Acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.
- Implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking are not taking place.
Due Diligence and Risk Management
We:
- Conduct risk assessments of our suppliers and partners.
- Expect all suppliers to comply with our values and to operate in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act.
- Reserve the right to terminate relationships with suppliers who fail to comply.
Training and Awareness
We provide training to relevant staff to ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
Reporting Concerns
Employees are encouraged to report any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical behaviour. Reports can be made confidentially to a member of the Board.
Review and Updates
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in legislation or our business operations.
