1. What does Superheat do?
Superheat is a full-service provider of on-site heat treatment solutions, uniquely focused on delivering wireless, remotely controlled electrical resistance and induction heat treatment services. Our approach is built around precision, safety, and efficiency, ensuring every project is executed with minimal risk, improved quality, reduced costs, and optimized timelines.

At the core of our operations is the patented Superheat SmartWay™ (Patent No.: 8,361,252 B2) process, which allows us to tailor heat treatment solutions to the exact requirements of each job. Whether preheating welds, performing post-weld heat treatment, or carrying out full component heat treatments, our process brings a custom approach that ensures consistent results while protecting the integrity of the workpiece.

In addition to full-service heat treatment, Superheat offers induction heat treatment solutions in partnership with Miller Electric through the Superheat SmartLink™ IH system. This flexible solution can be rented, leased, or purchased, providing on-demand induction heating with field-level technical support. SmartLink IH allows effortless programming of Miller units while automatically integrating all documentation into a customer’s quality management system. Through the SmartView™ portal, project teams can monitor heat cycles live, track status updates in real time, and generate detailed reporting for compliance and quality assurance purposes.

Our on-site furnace services complement these offerings, providing 24/7/365 support for heat treatment operations. After initial training, customer teams can manage furnace loading and unloading themselves, reducing operational costs and streamlining workflows. The Superheat SmartCenter™ platform enables remote control of furnace functions, including quality assurance protocols, while SmartView™ provides comprehensive project management capabilities from anywhere, ensuring projects stay on track and fully documented.

By combining advanced technology, remote operation, and tailored process management, Superheat empowers manufacturers to achieve reliable, efficient, and fully traceable heat treatment outcomes without the logistical and financial burdens of traditional off-site solutions. Our services are designed for industries where precision, safety, and quality are non-negotiable, including oil and gas, energy, and heavy manufacturing.

2. What makes Superheat great?
Superheat was founded in 2000 with a clear mission: to transform the on-site heat treatment industry through innovation, technology, and a relentless focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. At a time when traditional heat treatment practices relied on outdated equipment and manual procedures, projects were frequently delayed, over budget, and exposed workers to unnecessary risk. Superheat introduced a safer, more cost-effective, and quality-driven approach, advancing the industry with fully digital, remotely monitored solutions.

Our vision, Advancing Heat Treatment for the Digital Marketplace, reflects our commitment to integrating technology into every aspect of on-site heat treatment. Through our patented Superheat SmartWay™ process and suite of proprietary tools, we deliver custom solutions that minimize risk, improve quality, reduce costs, and save time.

Superheat’s digital platforms and equipment set us apart. SmartView™ provides a web-based project management and QA hub, offering live weld data, heat cycle monitoring, and downloadable QA packages. SmartPak™ adds intelligence at the workpiece level, while SmartCard™ provides certified control at the weld location. SmartPoint™ systems are compact, high-capacity, and safe for use in any environment. Our SmartLink™ IH solution allows induction units to be programmed remotely and integrates documentation seamlessly with customer quality management systems. For immediate on-site heat treatment, SmartFurnace™ and MagneMat™ solutions streamline setup and tear-down, significantly reducing idle time and labour costs. All equipment is remotely monitored and managed through the Superheat SmartCenter™, providing full oversight of heat cycles, QA, and operational performance.

Our approach delivers tangible benefits to clients:
• Minimize risk – Remote operation of all equipment reduces personnel exposure on-site, while SmartCard™ and SmartPak™ ensure electrical safety and operational integrity.
• Improve quality – Real-time monitoring and digital QA reporting allow informed decision-making, consistent process control, and lifetime traceability. MagneMat™ eliminates hazardous pinning during stress relieving setups, enhancing both safety and precision.
• Reduce costs – Remote supervision, optimized setup, and reduced labour requirements can deliver up to 40% savings in on-site labour costs. Patented wrapping and equipment systems accelerate project timelines while reducing logistical expenses.
• Save time – Immediate on-site heat treatment, efficient equipment deployment, and streamlined project management minimize downtime and project delays.

Superheat’s commitment to excellence is reflected in our long-standing client relationships and successful projects across the energy and industrial sectors. Client feedback consistently highlights our safety improvements, technical expertise, and the productivity gains realized through our SmartWay™ solutions. As one Shell Norco representative noted, “Superheat’s remote monitoring equipment proved beneficial to keep work fronts open while eliminating our labour exposure hours.” Another client praised the successful implementation of MagneMat™ and the transparent leadership of our site managers.

By integrating innovative tools, remote monitoring, and tailored processes, Superheat continues to redefine on-site heat treatment. Our people, technology, and commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency make us the premier choice for industrial energy and oil markets seeking reliable, cost-effective, and digitally advanced solutions.

3. What is your 5 year plan?
Over the next five years, Superheat aims to remain the world’s premier on-site heat treatment service provider while continuing to build a sustainable, growth-focused company that delivers pre- and post-weld heat treatment services to the industrial energy and oil markets. We plan to maintain our market leadership across North America while expanding our presence in the UK and strategically growing market share in the UAE.

A key focus will be further integrating our SmartLink™ induction heat treatment solutions into our service offerings, enhancing digital management, remote monitoring, and field-level support capabilities. By combining advanced technology with our established operational expertise, we will continue to provide clients with safer, more efficient, and cost-effective heat treatment solutions, reinforcing Superheat’s position as the industry’s trusted partner for innovation, quality, and reliability.

Looking ahead, we are also targeting emerging sectors such as Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and renewable energy projects, where precision heat treatment and digital monitoring are critical for operational integrity and safety. By tailoring our services to these growing markets, Superheat will support the development of safer, more sustainable energy infrastructure while expanding our footprint in high-growth industries.

4. What are you looking for from your EMN membership?
Having moved our UK operations base to Newton Aycliffe in July of 2024, we fully intend to integrate ourselves in the North East. Much of our in-field operations and senior management teams are based in / from the area and so we feel there are already foundations there we can build upon. We have been successful in large scale projects in Teesside’s industrialised areas for many years and look forward to being involved in many more over the coming years.

We look forward to using our EMN membership to talk with other engineering-minded businesses, sharing best practices and knowledge and helping each other wherever we can.

5. What information do you want to get out to members?
That Superheat is here to support other businesses in the region in any way that we can, whether that be in offering expertise in our own industry or in general business terms.

6. What are you going to offer back to the community?
We are looking to engage with local education / skills providing organisations to assess how we can not only utilise our industry-leading training programme to grow our local workforce but also to provide knowledge and expertise to the wider engineering community.
