Independent accountancy firm Tait Walker is setting its sight on further growth in 2019 following a year of new appointments and a brand new service offering.
In 2018, Tait Walker created 35 jobs in the region across a range of roles including an events coordinator, IT assistant and capital allowances and R&D managers. The firm’s wealth management team has grown due to an increase in new client wins for the team, ranging from investment and pension advice to long term financial planning.
Alongside the new positions, Tait Walker has welcomed tax and accountancy graduates who will undertake a mixed training course throughout their ACCA in which they will do both tax and audit tasks throughout their training to better understand client needs.
The accountancy firm’s continued focus on training and exam success has also seen the company award a range of internal promotions, including Claire Hinshaw from senior manager to Associate. Claire’s new position will see her work across Newcastle and Teesside to service the firm’s clients, assist the partners in growth of the business and manage staff across the teams.
Speaking on her promotion, Claire Hinshaw said: “Over the last two years I’ve really enjoyed working at Tait Walker and with some amazing North East businesses.
“Part of my new role will see me working to continue to develop our Newcastle and Teesside client portfolio and ensure we are providing the best possible service for our existing clients.”
Andrew Moorby, managing partner at Tait Walker, said: “2018 was a great year for Tait Walker and we’ve been able to expand our growing team across our offices in the region. We have also been working with our staff to develop their training which has seen us award employees with a number of promotions to senior management level.
“It’s been fantastic to work with great businesses in the region and we’ve enjoyed some great projects to help businesses achieve their goals. We launched a new digital insights service this year which has also been a great addition for our clients, to help them better understand the data in their businesses and how it can help them to improve profits and straetgy”.
In 2018, Tait Walker worked with a number of the North East’s growing businesses, including the The Naked Deli. The firm’s corporate finance team assisted the clean-eating restaurant chain in securing a £2.5 million investment of growth capital from Foresight Group to aid with bolstering systems and infrastructure, as well as continuing the rollout of sites across the UK.
Andrew continued: “In 2019, we have plans to recruit more team members and are looking at further growth in the region. Charity work is also high on our agenda and we’ll be exploring ways to get more involved in the community – it really is an exciting time for the firm.”
