Engineering and manufacturing companies are being given the chance to learn more about the financial support available to help their business grow.

County Durham Engineering and Manufacturing Network (CDEMN) is hosting an event at New College Durham on Wednesday, May 17.

The event will enable businesses to compare and contrast some of the funding opportunities on offer across the region and also understand how they can optimise their own capital and cash flow to enhance the business.

The event includes a number of financial experts including Santander who will talk about how your bank can help your business grow, and Tait Walker who will focus on tax credits, capital allowance, working capital and grants.

Other areas to be discussed will include Crowd Funding, the Jeremie programme (Maven Capital) and venture capitalism.

Additionally there will also be an overview of current grant funding and funded support programmes available through various schemes.

Ben Gilhespy, operations director at CDEMN, said: “We know access to funding support is perceived to be a real minefield for businesses but actually it can be simple if you know where to start.

“The purpose of our event is to de-mystify the whole process so employers know how to best optimise opportunities available.

“Tapping into financial support could enable a business to grow so I’d urge anyone who has considered applying for financial support of any kind to attend our event.”

There will also be an opportunity for attendees to network with CDEMN engineering and manufacturing members, as well as businesses from around the region.

The event starts at 8.30am sharp. To book your place email ben.gilhespy@cdemn.org.uk.
