Promoted Event: Manufacturing for Space Sector
September 9, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
A FREE 3-hour workshop (but with limited spaces) to help you assess if the Space sector is for you.
This workshop delivered by Plastron, highly experienced people in manufacturing in the Space sector, is specifically focused on opportunities for those with the following capabilities:
• Cable & cable loom manufacturers
• Additive manufacturing
• Fabrication (panels, component enclosures, pipework, cryogenics) in aluminium, surgical grade stainless steel (316), titanium and copper
This session will be an introductory session for companies that have never supplied the Space sector on:
• the commercial opportunities and how to build a business case
• what is it like (hints and tips) to supply in the industry
• what is involved from a qualification and standards point of view
There is a time limited grant for feasibility studies for a small number of companies in Sunderland and Durham to help individual companies explore further on these opportunities. So this is a great way of finding out if Space is for you before potentially getting this support.
*This is programme is delivered by Business Durham via the North East Satellite Applications Centre of Excellence. It is funded by the Community Renewal Fund (CRF) led by the North East Local Enterprise Partnership with Sunderland City Council and Gateshead Council.
