Engineering & Manufacturing Network (EMN) in partnership with Horizon Works, is hosting regular peer to peer specialist networking events for those working in marketing, sales, PR and brand within the engineering and manufacturing sectors across the North East of England.
Time: 12.00 – 2.00pm
Venue: Horizon Works HQ, NE23 7RZ
Ticket Price: Free
At this event, we’ll be focusing on communicating your Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy and activities.
Effectively communicating your commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)
Many companies invest time and resources into building and implementing their ESG strategy – but neglect its communication to internal and external audiences. And that’s a mistake.
When more and more companies are wishing to partner with businesses who demonstrate a commitment to responsible environmental management, social responsibility, and good governance, a lack of ESG visibility can hold back growth – and lead to lost opportunities.
And in an engineering and manufacturing environment where competition for talent is fierce, communicating ESG is vital: employees, especially millennials and Gen-Z, often prefer to work for companies with a strong ESG focus. Demonstrating your ESG values can also improve employee engagement, morale and retention.
Horizon Works will examine how businesses can develop messaging around ESG, convey their commitment to it, and guide attendees through the channels and tactics through which will have the most impact on external and internal audiences.
There’ll be advice on PR, social media, content and internal communications, and ideas that delegates can take back to their companies.
Horizon Works will also be hosting a group discussion, and there’ll also be lunch, networking and plenty of our great coffee to enjoy!

Peer to peer activity is proven to:
• Improve understanding – when you explain a concept to someone else, you have to think about it more deeply and in a different way. This can help you to better understand the concept yourself – the power of thinking out loud!
• Increase motivation – you are often more motivated to learn when you are working with others and creating a sense of camaraderie.
NB: This event is open to members and personal invitations from the Engineering and Manufacturing Network.
If you make, manufacture or engineer products please choose the Engineering and Manufacturing Company ticket
If you deliver or sell services into Engineering and Manufacturing, please choose the Service Company ticket option.
