Join EMN members & non members for a morning insight session into problem solving in the manufacturing and engineering sectors.
Topics include:
•Background/Intro to Problem Solving
•Practical Problem Solving
•How to get started
•Best practices – The Toyota Way; Plan, Do, Check Act; Three Steps of Concern Management etc.
Practical Problem Solving (PPS) was first introduced by Toyota as an integral part of the Toyota Production System (TPS), which is also known as Lean outside of Toyota. When combined with other TPS tools and techniques, PPS provides a structured method for identifying, analysing, and resolving problems efficiently and effectively. It promotes a culture of continuous improvement (kaizen), supported by strong leadership, positive behaviour, teamwork, and collaboration. Careful consideration and implementation of the steps (The How) are essential for ensuring effective and sustained deployment. Neglecting the role of leadership, cultural requirements, and the method of introduction can affect the success of the deployment. This workshop will provide an overview of PPS, its implementation, and how to begin your journey towards effectively solving problems in your business.
