Have you encountered skills shortages in your industry? If so, we are pleased to invite you to a Special Invitational Event, co-hosted by the Engineering Manufacturing Network and Durham County Council with Dr. Deirdre Hughes OBE, Director of DMH Associates. Deirdre is a UK and international careers specialist, commissioned by Durham County Council to lead a major research project on this topic. She will share the latest findings, and together we will discuss ‘the art of the possible’ going forward.

Alongside, Engineering & Manufacturing Network will launch a Derwentside focused project to build better connections between schools, colleges and existing employers to link and promote training, apprenticeship and skill development opportunities linked to potential job vacancies. The Reducing Present and Future Employment/Skills Gaps Project in Derwent Valley will look to pilot some of tghe emerging findings of the All Age Careers Framework.

This gathering is a unique opportunity for employers and sector bodies to collaborate on the co-design of an All-Age Careers Framework that addresses critical skill issues that impact people across the County.
