This masterclass offers you a comprehensive overview of the principles, techniques, and practical skills necessary for designing objects optimised for additive manufacturing (AM) processes. In this one-day workshop, you’ll explore the fundamentals of design for 3D printing, covering key concepts, software tools, and best practices through a combination of theoretical discussions, hands-on activities, and real-world case studies.
Our staff has strong expertise in the field of 3D scanning and this expertise has been utilised in industrial settings. We are fully trained in the hardware and software and understand the knowledge gaps that new users experience and with a strong expertise in teaching, you should feel at ease in a new subject environment.
The course is suitable for designers, engineers, educators, and enthusiasts interested in learning the fundamentals of designing for additive manufacturing and gaining practical skills in 3D printing. No prior experience of 3D modeling or additive manufacturing is required.
By the end of the course, you’ll have acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to design objects optimised for additive manufacturing, effectively prepare models for 3D printing, and apply post-processing techniques to enhance the quality and functionality of printed parts.
