Most organisations manage EHS legal compliance the same way they have for decades: spreadsheets, quarterly legal reviews, and hoping nothing slips through the cracks. With legislation changing more rapidly and ESG becoming an increasingly important supply chain priority, that approach doesn’t work anymore.
iCOR was built to solve that problem, with a bespoke legal register that updates monthly, tracks every obligation, and gives you audit-ready evidence at any point. Not just before an audit.
In 2025, we made it even better. Two major development programmes added capabilities that organisations need: faster and better audits, smarter automation, and clearer visibility over what needs attention.
Building Tools That Reflect How Compliance Works
Our Innovate UK project with the Port of Tyne in 2025 gave us direct access to a high-risk, highly regulated operational environment where we could test our new Health & Safety Audit Module with real users carrying out real processes.
The module simplifies H&S legal audits, presents applicable legislation in plain English (not legalese), and gives organisations a clear picture of what needs fixing, by whom, and by when. It’s helping HSE professionals reduce non-conformities in less time, with less stress, and without a spreadsheet in sight.
Our Hartree Centre project, also completed in 2025, accelerated our digital development work and brought forward core features that improve the speed, stability, and intelligence of the solution.
Why This Matters for Engineering and Manufacturing
Engineering and manufacturing operations face complex EHS legal compliance contexts. COSHH obligations, PUWER requirements, DSEAR for combustible materials, environmental permits with ongoing monitoring obligations, waste regulations that keep changing… and the list goes on.
Knowing what applies is not the only challenge. It is keeping knowledge current when regulations change, tracking implementation of changes, and maintaining audit-ready evidence.
That’s what iCOR solves. A bespoke legal register that adapts to your specific operations, updates monthly (not quarterly), and gives you visibility over what applies, what’s changed, and where you stand. It’s quicker, easier, and spreadsheet-free.
Looking Ahead: Offshore and Renewables
One of our priorities for 2026 is developing an Offshore Legislation Module for organisations working in offshore wind, marine operations, and wider renewables infrastructure. This sector faces complex cross-jurisdiction regulatory duties, increased scrutiny as new UK offshore projects begin, and growing expectations for environmental transparency.
We’re seeking conversations with offshore renewables operators and Tier 1 contractors as we shape this module around real operational needs. If this is relevant to your organisation or network, we’d welcome an introduction.
What Compliance Should Feel Like
When organisations have the right tools, compliance stops being a burden and becomes a source of confidence:
- You always know what applies.
- You always know what’s changed.
- You can prove compliance at any point, not just when an auditor asks for it.
That’s what we’ve built, and we’re looking forward to supporting more engineering and manufacturing organisations to meet their EHS legal obligations in a way that’s practical, accessible, and manageable.
