This year’s 10K Manufacturers Ramble – ON received a huge turnout of over 100 people and raised a whopping £3,116 for Andy’s Man Club a suicide prevention charity!

On Friday the 17th of May, Theo James Recruitment and AR Power, along with individuals within the Northeast manufacturing industry embarked on a 10km walk from Souter Lighthouse, Whitburn. The walk received an incredible turnout of well over 100 people, all with a united purpose of raising awareness for suicide prevention.

To make the walk even more impactful, organizers introduced discussion points every couple of miles. These prompts encouraged participants to engage in meaningful conversations about mental health.

These discussions were not just theoretical; they were grounded in real experiences and provided practical advice on supporting mental well-being in the workplace.

The event highlighted the human side of the manufacturing industry. Despite the tough exteriors often associated with this field, participants acknowledged that everyone, at times, needs a helping hand or someone to listen. The walk fostered a sense of community and understanding, breaking down barriers and promoting a culture of openness.

Raising £3,116 is a significant achievement, but the true success of the event lies in the awareness it generated and the conversations it sparked. By bringing together professionals from the manufacturing industry, the walk demonstrated the power of community and the importance of supporting mental health initiatives.

Theo James Recruitment’s Managing Director Mark Bracknall said “This was another amazing event and turnout. It was honestly so moving standing in front of over 100 people,  talking about mental health. It was powerful to see so many people come together from the industry!”

We hope that this walk will inspire others in the industry to take similar initiatives and support mental health charities like Andy’s Man Club. Together, we can create a more understanding and supportive environment for everyone.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported us.
