What does Sotech do?

Established in 1982, Sotech is leading designer and manufacturer of the Optima range of engineered metal rainscreen façade solutions and architectural fabrications, focusing on safety and sustainability.  Operating from two production facilities in Peterlee, County Durham, with a total manufacturing space of 65,000sqft.  The state-of-the-art facility includes a product showroom and training centre, enables efficient, high-volume production and provides clients with an immersive experience and understanding of the system and material options available.

Upholding an unwavering commitment to façade safety, Sotech conducts rigorous independent testing and pursues certifications to ensure that the Optima range adheres to the highest standards of safety and performance. This includes comprehensive fire tests conducted in the UK and Middle East, resulting in A1 non-combustible and A2 limited combustible rainscreen systems. Moreover, the Optima suite has successfully undergone stringent CWCT standard testing to simulate extreme building conditions, reaffirming Sotech’s dedication to excellence and innovation.

What are you looking for from your EMN membership?

To continue our efforts to support local businesses, local schools and other local stakeholders whilst seeking best practice advice / sharing between members.

We as a company are already very active with EMN both with other members but also, going to the visits, open days and trade shows.

What information do you want to get out to members?

We are stronger together and the best way to learn is from someone already doing it. The north east needs to look after its own, break down some barriers and help each other.

What are you going to offer back to the community?

We will be an active member of the community, seeking and giving help wherever possible.
