Paragon has acquired a new CNC lathe to help meet demand for precision machined components from its oil and gas, automotive and industrial customers.
Paragon CNC Technologies, a division of Darlington-based Paragon Rapid Technologies Ltd. and a diversified manufacturer of precision machined components, predominantly in the energy, oil and gas, aerospace, automotive and industrial products sectors, has taken delivery of a Doosan Puma 3100Y, offering a turning capacity of 420mm diameter x 765mm.
Paragon CNC Technologies specialises in contract management of component parts across a range of industry sectors, in addition to its bespoke gauges, jigs and fixtures design and manufacture, inspection, and tooling creation services.
Steep rise in demand for CNC machined parts
Demand for machined parts has seen a steady increase since Brexit; and the pandemic has been instrumental in driving re-shoring of certain aspects of engineering and manufacture. Indeed, Paragon’s milling capability was operating at maximum capacity to keep up with demand for component parts for PCR testing devices throughout 2020 and 2021. Since the middle of last year, Paragon has seen a sharp increase in demand for machined parts for electric vehicles, robotics and renewable energy processing equipment.
