Tuesday 24th February 2026
12.00 – 13.30
- Inheritance Tax – new thresholds and what it means for family owned/run manufacturing & engineering businesses – Chris Hodgson
- Capital Allowances – a run through changes to capital allowances and the minefield of what is and is not claimable – TBC
- R&D and Patent Box – From 1 April 2024, the UK merged the former R&D schemes (the SME scheme and RDEC — Research & Development Expenditure Credit) into a single, simplified R&D relief system. The rules are clearer but the compliance expectations are higher. Rebecca McColl from Johnston Carmichael will run through what has changed, what qualifies, and how to maximise cash without falling foul of HMRC or slowing down investors.
