Twelve of our Engineering students have just returned from an unforgettable three-week work placement in Salerno, Italy, as part of the Turing Scheme.
While in Italy, the group gained hands-on experience in engineering workplaces across the region, building technical skills and confidence along the way. Outside of work, they immersed themselves in Italian culture, from exploring historic landmarks like Castello di Arechi to enjoying beach football with local residents.
The students showed professionalism, resilience and teamwork throughout the trip, and were praised by placement hosts for their dedication and attitude.
This is Hartlepool College’s fourth international Turing Scheme placement this year, and another great example of how we continue to transform lives through real-world experiences.
