B2B marketing company Horizon Works has announced that former apprentice Jack Weir has been appointed to the role of Marketing and Digital Administrator.
Jack began a Digital Marketing Apprenticeship with Horizon Works in July 2022. He was taken on as a full-time staff member following the completion of the apprenticeship last month.
Over the last year, he has worked alongside Horizon Works’ marketing specialists to gain hands-on experience in areas such as social media, e-marketing, SEO, website management and Google Analytics.
He has also gained wider insight into how B2B marketing is applied in the manufacturing and engineering sectors, and how digital marketing activities are integrated into marketing strategies and brand building.
His Digital Marketing Apprenticeship was delivered through Darlington-based Baltic Apprenticeships, which specialises in digital marketing and IT apprenticeships.
In his new role of Marketing and Digital Administrator, he will be supporting the Horizon Works team across a wide range of marketing activities.
Horizon Works, which is based at Northumberland Business Park near Cramlington, supports innovators in complex industries and offers a wide range of integrated marketing services including strategy, PR, design and digital.
Samantha Vassallo, Managing Director of Horizon Works, said: “Jack should be very proud of what he has achieved over the last 12 months – he has been a pleasure to work with, and has shown great commitment to his apprenticeship and the business.
“We are committed to helping young people to launch and develop their marketing careers, and we’ve enjoyed seeing Jack advance through his apprenticeship.
“We’re delighted that he has completed his apprenticeship and joined us in a full-time role.”
Jack Weir said: “The apprenticeship has given me a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience of digital marketing.
“By undertaking an apprenticeship in an agency environment, I’ve been able to support my colleagues on a number of exciting campaigns, projects and activities, from website builds to industry events. This has given me a deeper understanding of marketing, which I am taking forward into my new role.
“I’m looking forward to progressing my career further with Horizon Works!”
