Durham University Business School (DUBS) are delighted to have recently welcomed their second Senior Leader Apprenticeship (SLA) cohort in January.
Apprentices joined from a range of employers including Nissan, Northumbrian Water Group, Cummins and CPI. The range of companies made for interesting discussions and great networking opportunities.
The SLA programme has been specifically designed for highly motivated middle to senior managers aspiring to become more responsible, innovative leaders. Delivered part-time over 18 months, the programme will provide participants with a future focused curriculum, specifically tailored to meet participants and employers’ needs.
Participants have the opportunity to enhance core leadership skills through modules such as strategic management, international marketing and financing, organisational behaviour as well as developing a firm grounding in newer, increasingly vital disciplines such as technology management, sustainability and business ethics.
The SLA is funded via the apprenticeship levy and hence provides an attractive avenue by which companies can offer professional development to their senior employees. As well as gaining the apprenticeship, participants will also be awarded the PG Certificate in Senior Leadership Development. This is particularly attractive as it facilitates a top up to the Online MBA, should they wish to continue their studies.
A third cohort is scheduled to begin in June 2023, and DUBS are currently taking applications from individuals working in regional and national companies.
More information about the programme can be found on the Durham’s SLA webpage – The Durham Senior Leader Apprenticeship – Durham University Business School
