SUMMARY:Promoted Event: Insider Media - GOING GLOBAL: ACCELERATING NORTH EAST EXPORTS BREAKFAST
DESCRIPTION:Book Now \nExports have a huge part to play in economic growth and prosperity\, with exporting businesses more competitive\, productive and profitable. The government has set an ambitious target to boost the UK’s annual exports to £1 trillion by 2030\, as part of its new export strategy. \nThis Insider breakfast\, in association with the Department for Business and Trade\, will shine a light on export capabilities here in the north. We will look at a range of sectors\, and differing sizes of businesses\, to highlight the opportunities and challenges underlining these markets. \nThe North East has a strong history of exporting\, particularly in sectors such as advanced manufacturing\, pharmaceuticals and chemicals and energy\, as well as in digital and professional services. Its reputation in providing high quality goods and services\, with highly skilled and motivated workforces\, is recognised and valued across the world. \nSpeakers will be able to share their experiences of exporting and offer practical advice around strategy\, investment and regulation – featuring established overseas traders to early-stage businesses taking their first steps internationally. \nThe panel will offer insights into leading export markets such as Europe\, the US and Asia to explain how they differ in terms of culture\, pricing strategies and standards. They will also offer insight into legislation changes following Brexit and the government’s new Free Trade Agreements to help businesses acquire the skills\, contacts and confidence to start exporting or break into new markets. \nThis event is the last in the series of export events. The first took place in Yorkshire\, followed by the North West which looks at the Dynamic Dozen and how to unlock global markets\, coming up on the 16th January. \nRegister today to hear how exporting can benefit your business. \nBook Now

SUMMARY:Waterstons Manufacturing Network Breakfast Event
DESCRIPTION:We’ve been working in manufacturing and technology for almost 30 years. We’ve lived and breathed the tremendous pace of technological change\, and we’ve consistently proved the transformational power of people and technology\, working in partnership. \nJoin us for an event at our HQ in Durham designed to empower those in manufacturing in the realms of innovation\, AI\, data\, and cyber security\, hosted by Helen Fawcett\, our Sector Principal. Breakfast is provided\, of course! \nInnovation and AI \nEvery year the list of technologies that will apparently revolutionise the industry grows – but will it? Efforts to innovate need to be grounded in real-world manufacturing processes and challenges\, rather than being led by new technology. What do you need to be thinking about right now if you aim to adopt an emerging technology in the future\, and what are the steps you need to take to get there? Let’s look at how to identify the small first step we should take in order to complete a large innovation project. \nMastering Data for Manufacturing Excellence \nTechnology hype is rampant in the manufacturing industry\, particularly with the advent of Industry 4.0. While it’s true that leveraging data can provide a competitive edge and help companies stay ahead\, many manufacturers remain stuck in pilot purgatory\, struggling to capture the full potential of their transformation efforts or deliver a satisfactory return on investment. In this session\, we will explore the key elements of a successful data journey and how to avoid getting caught up in the hype. \nCyber Security Resilience in Manufacturing \nInsight into the current cyber threat landscape and trends which the manufacturing sector are facing\, and five things that all businesses should be considering to start their cyber resilience journey and establish a strong defence baseline. \nExplore how collectively\, as a manufacturing community\, we can harness innovation\, AI\, data\, and cyber security to shape a brilliant future for the industry.

SUMMARY:Affiliate Event: Lloyds - Markets Matter Conference Call
DESCRIPTION:Policy Rates Continue to Rise\n24th August 09:30am \n\nSince our last call\, in response to stubbornly high levels of inflation\, we have seen monetary policy increases of 25bp from the US Fed\, the ECB and the BoE. In the UK\, highlighting the uncertainty around the future path of rates\, the vote was split with 6 policy makers favouring 25bp increase\, 2 favouring a 50bp increase and 1 favouring no change. While the recent increase in the US followed a pause in rate rises\, with the Fed following their guidance that future policy changes would be ‘data dependent’ and deeming conditions were such that a 25bp increase was warranted.\nWhile data readings have always been key for Central Banks\, the message of data dependency does make it challenging for corporates to have a clear view on the future of monetary policy (and therefore market rates in all asset classes)\, especially where inflation is trending in the right direction but labour markets (in the UK and US) remain tight.\nPlease join us for our next call where we will reflect on both the output from these recent central Bank meetings and data signals in the period following the meetings. The panellists will discuss market reaction to both the meetings and other recent events\, as well as discussing what clients may wish to consider from a risk management perspective given the level of uncertainty around future market moves.\nAs Corporates prepare for the end of the summer period\, this call should give some insight in to some of the factors likely to impact markets and trading across the rest of the year. \n\nJoin the Teams Live event
