SUMMARY:EMN WORKSHOP:
DESCRIPTION:EMN Members in the North East LEP area are invited to this free workshop\, to be part of a collaborative peer group\, setting a clear agenda for business growth and prosperity in the region. Places are limited to 15 for businesses like yours with a certain level of turnover and/or number of employees. \nWe have been working closely with Business Doctors and Northstar Ventures\, to create a face to face fully funded peer to peer business planning workshop\, focusing on building a strategy for your business. The cost of the workshop and toolkit would normally be £500; however\, we are offering the workshop for FREE. \nRegardless of where you are at right now\, whether you are coping with a surge in demand or the opposite\, trying to make sense of the number of opportunities available to you\, or questioning the long-term viability of your current model\, the Business Growth Roadmap Planning Workshop and Toolkit will benefit business owners by dotting an easy-to-understand roadmap including: \nBeing clear about your direction of travel – You may currently find yourself at a strategic crossroads\, so understanding your direction and where your businesses is heading is critical. We will be focussing on gaining clarity around your personal shareholder aspirations\, the underpinning values and beliefs that drive your business/brand identity and how this translates into building value in your business. \nPlanning the route – As with any journey\, it makes sense to plan the most efficient route to take. The workshop will guide you through future proofing your business\, unlocking the market opportunities that give you the returns you need to sustain and grow\, before simplifying these into a clear strategic focus. \nDriving Results – Planning is the easy bit: the key is to engage your team and build a leadership team around you that share your values and vision for the future. Your team must be capable of making things happen without you being the only one in the driving seat. \nWhat you’ll get \n\nCollaborating in a peer group setting for a genuine business recovery/growth agenda.\nSharing expertise\, share experience\, and work together for greater impact as a group.\nAccess to resources and information on funding to help get business back on track.\nAccess to the wider business knowledge combining both sector and good business practices.\n\nWhat’s included \n\nA fully interactive face to face workshop\nA structured business roadmap workbook to help capture and record key learnings\nA sales activity planning tool\nA downloadable business Planning Implementation/project management tool\nA private 1-hour follow up review session with a Business Doctor advisor\nAccess to a wide range of tools and resources to help get your business back on track\n\nPlaces are limited so book yours now!

SUMMARY:Dogger Bank Wind Farm Introductory Webinar – Operations
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will provide an introduction to the operations phase of the project where attendees will find out about Dogger Bank’s Tier 1 contractors and opportunities for the supply chain. There will also be a Q&A session for those keen to ask specific questions of the Dogger Bank team. \n\n\n\n\nDogger Bank Wind Farm is located more than 130km off the north-east coast of England and is being delivered by joint venture partners SSE Renewables\, Equinor and Eni. SSE Renewables is leading on construction and delivery while Equinor will operate the wind farm on completion. Due to its size and scale\, Dogger Bank is being built in three consecutive 1.2GW phases; Dogger Bank A\, Dogger Bank B and Dogger Bank C. In total the wind farm is expected to generate enough renewable electricity to supply 5% of the UK’s demand\, equivalent to powering six million homes. \nhttps://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/dogger-bank-wind-farm-introductory-webinar-operations-tickets-244463967307

SUMMARY:Member to Member Event: Lets Talk: Energy
DESCRIPTION:Over the last few months we have seen energy prices soar affecting businesses profitability significantly in addition to the issues presented by escalating material and labour costs. Engineering & Manufacturing Network have been working hard to find some ways to reduce this albeit of course many of these are small measures\, but we hope they are improving bottom lines as we feel we must try and support our network and region. \nKnowing what can be done is confusing and we are hearing of slight market stabilisation in energy and also ways to reduce standing charges\, in some ways significantly. We are also hearing of ‘interesting’ methods of trying to lure businesses into new contracts that may not necessarily represent best value. \nWorking with our partners Great Annual Savings and Hartlepool College we have created an event to which we would like to invite businesses Thursday 28th April at 8am. This is an opportunity to network with your peers and also listen to the cost improvements that can be made in your business\, alongside a view of where this may all be headed to allow you to plan. \nHartlepool College have also provided an opportunity to tour their fascinating facility with a very strong focus on engineering including aviation\, automotive\, electrical and automation to name just some of their strengths. This is also an excellent way of learning how to build your future workforce through apprenticeships and upskill your current employees. \nPlease come along and join the conversation with an opportunity to speak to GAS advisors informally and without obligation. \nWhen – 8am\, Thursday 28th April \nWhere – Hartlepool College of Further Education \nAgenda: \n8.00 – 8.15am – Networking\, coffee\, etc. \n8.15 – 8.20am – Engineering and Manufacturing Network Intro \n8.20 – 8.25am – Welcome and overview of Hartlepool College of Further Education\, Gary Riches – Assistant Principal \n8.25 – 8.40am – Presentation from GAS (Craig Portsmouth) \n8.40 – 9.30am – Liaise with GAS advisers\, networking\, and College tour (if requested). \n9.30am – END \nhttps://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/call-it-lets-talk-energy-tickets-293150118897

SUMMARY:Engineering & Manufacturing Marketers' Meet-Up
DESCRIPTION:Book Now \nMarketing is difficult for engineering and manufacturing companies – FACT \n\nThe products we sell are often complex and technical so it’s difficult to explain the benefits of products clearly and concise.\nThe target audience is small and specialised which can make it difficult to reach them with marketing messages.\nThe sales cycle can be long so it’s hard to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and evidence why the investment is worth it to a senior team.\n\nCome and join us at this event\, with like-minded professionals responsible for marketing and sales in engineering and manufacturing businesses\, to develop your practice and become more effective and efficient. \nPresentation: Building a sales and marketing strategy to support growth \nAt this session on June 7\, we’ll be hearing from Ben Moody\, Marketing Manager of Alexander Battery Technologies\, winner of the Insider Made In The North East Manufacturer of the Year (under £25 million) award… \nBuilding a Sales and Marketing strategy for growth can be difficult for any business. The goal for Alexander Battery Technologies was to drastically improve upon the pre-existing approach of the business. \nHaving been an established business for over 40 years\, 2022 was the year it needed to develop a strategy to capture the increase of electrification in industry and take the business to the next level. Growing from a single sales person to a Sales and Marketing team of 10 (and counting) Alexander Battery Technologies applied its strategy to support growth through exhibitions supported by a digital strategy to feed into campaigns. \nBen’s presentation will include: \n\nThe steps Alexander Battery Technologies took towards building its team\nWhat the team builds into its marketing plan… and why\nA review of the company’s successes with its strategy\nWhat it has learned along the way\n\n  \nThis is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the success of an innovative North East company with a rich heritage – and see the difference marketing has made to its journey. \nThe event will also include a panel session with marketing and sales specialists from across the engineering and manufacturing community. \nPeer to peer activity is proven to: \n\nImprove understanding – when you explain a concept to someone else\, you have to think about it more deeply and in a different way. This can help you to better understand the concept yourself – the power of thinking out loud!\nIncrease motivation – you are often more motivated to learn when you are working with others and creating a sense of camaraderie.\n\nEach Engineering and Manufacturing Marketers’ Meet-Up session will focus on a specialist topic or case study and is targeted at those responsible for marketing and sales\, business development\, PR\, and brand within and engineering & manufacturing setting at all levels. \nBuilding a Sales and Marketing Strategy to Support Growth
