Training Tomorrow’s Engineers Today: Seta Renews Its EMN Membership
EMN is delighted to celebrate the renewal of Seta’s membership. For almost 60 years, Sunderland Engineering Training Association (Seta) has helped employers develop the next generation of engineers and technicians across the North East.
Developing Engineering Talent for Nearly Six Decades
As an independent specialist engineering training provider and registered charity, Seta delivers high-quality, industry-led training and apprenticeships. The organisation combines practical learning with real-world experience, helping apprentices develop the technical skills and workplace behaviours employers value.
What makes Seta unique is its employer-focused approach. As a not-for-profit organisation, it reinvests all surplus income into its apprentices, facilities and equipment. As a result, learners benefit from industry-standard technology and modern training environments.
Furthermore, Seta continues to invest in the future of engineering training. Recent enhancements include industrial robots, collaborative robotics systems and advanced CNC machining centres. Consequently, apprentices gain hands-on experience with the technologies increasingly used throughout the sector.
Supporting Skills Growth Across the North East
Seta offers a broad range of apprenticeship pathways across engineering and manufacturing disciplines. In addition, the organisation delivers higher-level qualifications and commercial training programmes that support workforce development and upskilling.
